BB60000

The BB 60000 is a series of diesel-electric locomotives from the SNCF, built by the Spanish manufacturer Vossloh (at its site in Valence) and delivered from 2006. Designed mainly to modernize the Freight and Infrastructure business park (infrastructure maintenance).

Although its compact silhouette with a central cab is reminiscent of traditional shunting locomotives, the BB 60000 is a versatile machine with an output of 1,000 kW. This allows it to efficiently provide heavy yard services, but also to haul freight trains over short and medium distances (local routes) on non-electrified lines. Fitted with the grey and green livery of the Freight business line or the yellow livery of the Infra, it stands out for its reliability, its more environmentally friendly motorization and its ergonomic driver’s cab offering excellent visibility to the operator.
